Founded in 1994 as Aston Care Systems Inc., Discovery Management Group developed and operated the Aston Gardens portfolio of senior-living communities in Florida until 2006, at which time the communities were sold for $450 million to a joint venture between Sunrise Senior Living and GE. On April 30, 2009, Discovery Management Group became the managing general partner and operator through its purchase of an interest in the communities. Our senior management team that started with the firm is still on board, and their experience includes creating and managing a flourishing portfolio of 2,000 homes for seniors.
